The 2011 City of Yellowknife Heritage Week was a great success with a number of well-attended events celebrating the mining history of our community.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the week's events. Heritage Week was held on February 20 to 27th in Yellowknife. The NWT Mining Heritage Society organized a movie night on February 25th and showcased a number of classic Yellowknife videos including a 1954 production on Giant Mine. A number of excellent peices of Con Mine history were on display at the Art Show and we were very impressed with the wide variety of items, including an mural of Con history painted onto the hood of an old car found near the mine site!
