The Yellowknife Historical Society is pleased to announce that Beer Barge is back on this summer!
The community-spirit party celebrates history with a re-enactment of the arrival of Yellowknife's first barge following spring break-up - a once proud tradition in the city's early water-faring days.
We have been unable to have a Beer Barge since the Pandemic, so we are pretty excited to celebrate with you again. The party will be slightly different this year. It will be held at the Fishy People Inc restaurant and dock (Aurora Bayside Inn, 3505 McDonald Drive) who will be providing food at cost. The NWT Brewing Company will be supplying their variety of locally-brewed beers at cost. Door tickets are $25 and they are available through Fishy People Inc, NWT Brewing (The Woodyard Pub), YK Seniors Society, and Quality Furniture store in person - any tickets left will be sold on the night of the event at the gate. NO ONLINE SALES THIS YEAR.
DATE FOR BEER BARGE 2023 is June 17, starting at 4:30 PM and running to 10:30 PM.
Live entertainment to be provided - musical acts to be announced.
