CALLING ALL YELLOWKNIFE AND NORTHERN ARTISTS!
Since our founding in 2002, the Yellowknife Historical Society has been dedicated to the celebration of Yellowknife's culture and people. As a universal medium, art is one of the best ways to showcase the unique identity of the North. As such, the Yellowknife Historical Society is pleased to announce our newest community project -- the Yellowknife Historical Society Art Exhibition!
The Miner's Mess restaurant space has had the honour of hosting the artwork of Walt Humphries (see here) for the past year. We have always intended to utilize this space for rotating art, and now the time has come! We are seeking Northern artists who are eager for the opportunity to display their artwork in a major cultural centre. The Yellowknife Historical Museum routinely attracts visitors from all over both Canada and the globe at large. For visitors, getting to see the art of Yellowknifers is a great way to absorb and appreciate the culture and stories of our great city.
We are hoping to have our first exhibition-set this SUMMER 2025. Stay tuned for information about upcoming art exhibitions at the Yellowknife Historical Museum!
For Artists:
The first round of admissions has closed. We will be reaching out to artists the first week of May. Our first exhibition is planned for Summer 2025!
