The Yellowknife Historical Museum is located by the Giant Mine Site / Boat Launch. If you'd like to rent this space check our "Renting the Museum" page.

The museum is located on Chief Drygeese Territory, the traditional territory of the Wiìliìdeh Yellowknives Dene, and home of the North Slave Métis. We respectfully acknowledge our presence on their land around Yellowknife.

"I am impressed, and haven't seen everything yet!"

Yellowknife sits on top of a volcanic belt that is 2.7 billion years old. The pillowed rocks were laid down in an ancient ocean environment similar to the volcanoes one can observe in Hawaii today.
